Well, it appears GPT 4 is quite a bit smarter than GPT 3. I think we all know where this is heading.

In the mist of Meta laying off 10k employees and Amazon with another 9k this week we take a high level looks at tech industry wreckage that continues into 2023. Outside of large cap tech, seed stage companies have been impacted the most with the broader macro uncertainty, with a shocking 80% of seed stage companies going through layoffs since Q1 2022.

Insights into sector specific fundraising size show Biotech companies raise on average more money at a higher valuation than the broader technology space, likely an attribute to the capital needed to fund deep scientific research - much more than marketplace or standard SaaS company.

Month-over-month crypto VC funding has surged to highs in March not seen since before the Terra/LUNA implosion and 3AC blowup in Q2 last year.

Despite the downturn in crypto funding over the last year, an interesting metric caught out eye — BTC spot volume is now higher than any point during the 2022 unwind and even higher than the FTX-induced liquidations — it seems a US banking crisis brings to fruition for the first time Bitcoins initial thesis - a sovereign hedge to a single government-backed currency.
