The Mad Dash
< Curated charts that filter the noise to tell the real story / >

Two of the top three largest US bank failures to date have occurred in the first quarter of 2023, a signal of potentially rockier roads ahead for the economy.

Investments into US-based unicorns slid for a 5th straight quarter in both deal volume and value.

The Federal Reserves balance sheet has ballooned by $300B this week following the collapse of SVB. The FED lent an initial $11.9B to US banks under financial duress through an emergency program meant to stop bank runs in the wake of last week’s events per Morningstar.

It’s been a rough go for the newly minted IPOs coming out of the 2020-2022 cycle that saw private market valuations soar above sustainable limits. Both private market and public market valuations have seen a radical repricing over the last 12 months.
